Cynthia's debut spoken word album, Veil of Time: Ghost Stories from Atlanta, received an Honor in the 2018 Storytelling World Awards Program in the category of Storytelling Recordings.
A storyteller for the Lawrenceville Ghost Tours for 15 years, Cynthia also led ghost tours in downtown Atlanta and Veil of Time features stories about paranormal activity at landmarks like the Fox Theatre and Underground Atlanta—real ghosts in real places.
Other stories on Veil of Time are based on accounts told to Cynthia by people taking her tours: witnessing three small ghosts running on the stairs at the old Lawrenceville Female Seminary; encountering a terrifying, evil spirit at the old Georgia Mental Health Institute.
Her story about Lawrenceville’s haunted jail is based on lore handed down for almost 170 years and backed up with a detailed account written by someone involved in the incident. This tale also includes a long list of recent paranormal activity witnessed in the jail by guests and guides during Lawrenceville Ghost Tours.
On the final cut of the album, Cynthia recalls a very painful, and very personal, paranormal encounter she had in the Historic Lawrenceville Cemetery, where she led Haunted Cemetery Tours.
Each story on the album is introduced with a brief bit of music, composed by Cynthia and arranged by Atlanta musician Matthew Trautwein, creating unique moods: a raucous bar band, a foreboding round, an unsettling music box.
